One of the most important aspects of watercolor painting is the lighting that affects everything we see, regardless of whether it is sunlight, moonlight, or an artificial light.
It not only affects the colors seen by us, but also gives form and life to the shapes that might otherwise seem flat and empty. Objects in the foreground, will always seem brighter and more colorful than those in the background. So if we see a landscape of wooded hills, the trees in the foreground will seem much brighter and more vivid than those further, closer to the horizon.
The general rule on how we see and paint colors, is that the so-called warm colors are closer to us, and the cold are moving away from the viewer. Check it out at the next workshop, adding to the landscape of warm colors (orange or red) and cold (blue), and observing the behavior of individual picture elements, are they moving away from us or zooming.
This time, instead of landscapes and streets, we will try to paint people- not as usual but in Egyptian style.
Egyptian art was created by many traditional forms: people's faces are devoid of expression, their features are impersonal, head and legs shown in profile, while the body is viewed from the front. Since the dawn of Egyptian art women's bodies are painted with yellow ocher, a men's body with red. What is more surprising, this artistic convention does not apply to drawings of animals that are more vivid and painted with various colors.
Replication of this technique is easy and fun. After outlining the contours, we will paint uniformly flat surface with paint, without taking into account the effects of light and shade. Additionally we are going to decorate the works with patterned stripes of Egyptian writings.
The previous watercolor workshops were very successful, so we encourage others to try this exciting, surprising, fast, and not-so-difficult art.
At the next classes we will be drawing and then "color" our sketches with watercolors and a theme is a piece of architecture. Postcards or photos of the picturesque, sunny places will be helpful. Just not very complicated streets views, the facade of the building with a door and a window, a small balcony with a balustrade, with elements of green and shadow falling on the walls and the ground. During the workshop we will paint several small trials themes and the bigger picture.
We all know how the tree, the grass looks like, what is the color of the sky or water. But should the sky always be blue and greenness green?
To celebrate our upcoming Women's Day we will warm up a little winter atmosphere outside. We'll paint the nature from imagination using watercolors. Which of us ever dreamed that in the summer afternoon sitting by the shores of lake perpetuate this wonderful landscape reflecting in the water, who does not admire the view of the sky, sea, sand, walking on the beach ...
At the next classes we learn different painting techniques to present a cloudy sky, with a brush, sponge and paper towels as well as methods of green paint and its reflection in the water.
This time we will paint a geometric composition and an inspiration for our work will be ubiquitous architecture of the city, namely: houses, doors, windows, roofs, chimneys, etc. All these elements let us take the easy way with flat geometric shapes: rectangle, square, circle, triangle and their modifications.
The most important thing is lush imagination and the right choice of colors: pastel, "warm" or "cool" shades.
We are going to paint a picture by observing a still life. More specifically: we set on the table few items: box, vase, bottle, background will be an interesting frame and tablecloth or textile. Items with expressive colors help you choose the right colors in your palette.
In addition to mixing colors, we wil learn to lighten them by whitening or put straight from the tube. We will observe, measure, squint eye, in order to find the right proportions of the composition and move it from three- dimensional on a two- dimensional space of a page.
On the day of our most beloved Grandmothers let's make something special for them. We will paint a wooden box, with a variety of patterned templates. By the way, we are going to learn how to choose and mix acrylic paints. Color box will be used to collect pictures of grandchildren, of family gatherings and holidays. All: children, youth, mums and grannies are invited.
Grandmother and Granfather Day is coming soon and therefore ach!art studio is preparing for the next scrapbooking workshop at Cafe Pestka with aromatic coffee.
The best gift Grandparents would like to get on their feast are the pictures of grandchildren, especially if they will be pasted on the hand- made calendar for 2013 year.
We invite all from 7 to 107 years old :)

Watercolor painting is very impressive and "clean" way of coating color pencil drawings. For many artists, it is a first step in the development of their knowledge of paints and painting. It is a very good start, and having gained a little practice, you can create images which look spectacular. At the class we learn color wash- covering, a technique by which the addition of a few simple colors can completely change the look of drawing. Watercolor technique is so fast that within 3 hours we will paint a few sample sketches and the final image. We will learn to paint, among others: Nicholas, Christmas tree, Christmas ornament and composition consisting of several items: boxes, bottles, tablecloth, etc.
We make pendants on a Christmas tree: cotillions, snowmen, stars, snowflakes, cones and many other ORIGMI decorations. We combine the old with the new, used newspapers, destroyed notebooks, old package, together with ribbon and colored paper, etc. ..
The idea: bring as many your own materials as possible, then pay only: 10 PLN per hour.
